How does it work?
Star21 Extended Warranty gives you the extra protection of an additonal 12 months warranty on your mobile phone, after the manufacturer 12 month warranty. With most mobile phone manufacturer warranties lasting for 12 months, Star21 Extended Warranty makes sure you have peace of mind with an additional 12 months on the warranty.
How to make a claim?
- Check your warranty period. If your 12 months manufacturer warranty has ended your extended warranty will have begun.
- Send your phone back to any Star21 location or contact 03 9804 2777 or 1300 36 00 59 for a pick up.
- Your phone will then be sent to an Authorised Service Centre.
- If your claim is covered by the warranty, your handset will be repaired or replaced.

Check that phone damage falls within the warranty guidelines. Physical and water damage is not covered by the warranty - see terms and conditions below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Star21 Responsibilities
Star21 will extend the manufacturer's original warranty on the transceiver component only, for a futher 1 year period on the same terms and conditions, detailed in the manufacturers standard warranty documentation. Accessories such as batteries, rechargers or car kits will not be warranted beyond the initial manufacturers warranty period.
Star21 will not repair or replace handsets returned under warranty where failure is caused by or unauthorised replacement of any part of the original handset.
Star21 reserves the right to exclude any make or model of Mobile handset from being accepted under the terms of the Star21
extended warranty. PDA devices such as Blackberry, O2, I-mate, Dopods, HCT and Palm Treo are not covered by the agreement.
Star21 reserves the right to repair or replace the item with an item of similar function, type, age, capacity and quality and in a condition equal to but not better than the condition of the item at the time of the loss. Liability is limited to
the maximum sum insured.
The combined repair or replacement cost of your phone in aggregate are limited to the maximum of sum insured.
The Maximum Sum Insured is limited to the market value of the item as at the time of the loss.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES
Warranty claims in the first 12 months of phone ownership are covered by the original manfacturer's warranty.
If the handset is returned to Star21 Authorised Service Centre for any fault not covered by this warranty, all costs involved including a charge for inspection and handling must be paid to the Authorised Service Centre. Customer will be given a quote and the choice for any repairs to be carried out by the Authorised Service Centre.
EXCLUSIONS
This agreement will not cover repairs:
a) In any way arising from or out of accidental damage or misuse of equipment, fire, lightning, explosion, earthquake, malicious damage, storm and/ or tempest, flood, liquid damage, impact, burglary and / or theft.
b) Relating or arising out of any defect in the equipment which was know by the customer at the time of sale.
c) For any loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by or as a result of war, nuclear weapons, weapons, exposure to or contaminated by radiation of whatever nature or origin, whether natural or human generated.
d) Made by any person other than the original purchaser to whom the warranty was issued.
e) Arising from failure due to wear and tear.
f) Arising from or relating to batteries, chargers or car kits.
g) Arising or relating to any loss or damage directly or indirectly caused by software.
h) In respect or arising from any data loss.
i) Relating or arising from any damages resulting from lightning, voltage spikes or other fluctuations in power supply.
J) In respect to loss of use of the equipment or in respect to any other consequential loss.
k) For any third party property damage and/or third party bodily injury.
l) For any costs which can be covered under manufacturer or supplier warranty
m) Arising out of failure of the equipment to preform as expressly or impliedly warranted or advertise, other than as a result of equipment failure.
n) Any other exclusion not noted above but included as an exclusion in the original Manufacturer's Warranty conditions.
o) Any costs relating to a rising from product recalls and or design faults
p) Where there is evidence of removal, modification or defacing of IMEI number.
q) Any other costs not specified in this agreement.
r) Caused by servicing, changing of control settings or maintenance of the device.
s) Where the information supplied by you is false or misleading.
t) In excess of 24 months from the purchase date of the item.
THIS AGREEMENT IS NOT TRANSFERABLE TO ANY OTHER MOBILE PHONE.
