Announcing the Google Pixel

Overnight, Google held a press conference in which they revealed their latest device – Google Pixel.

Some people may be familiar with this concept before as Google had the Nexus brand. The Nexus brand is when Google would team up with manufacturers to deliver the Google Android operating system. This time Google have made the hardware (along with the software) in house to deliver an all in one experience.

The Google Pixel ships with Android Nougat 7.1 and all updates in relation to the phone/OS will be delivered directly from Google making the updates seamless and much quicker.

Pixel has a 12.3MP camera, featuring an f/2.0 aperture and big 1.55 micron pixels to capture lots and lots of light. The Google photography gurus and image processing experts have spent the last year designing and tirelessly optimizing our entire camera stack; and if the demo was anything to go by – WOW.

The Google Pixel will be available for pre-order October 13 with shipments to come shortly.
